Thailand
Thailand?s rich and exotic culture, gorgeous beaches and superb cuisine have long captured the imagination of tourists, and there is some evidence that Thailand is about to become a hot international real estate market as well. Global realtor CB Richard Ellis has predicted that Thailand will be the next frontier for the "global investment surge," and the new government regime is supporting sector growth. New tax reductions on title transfer, mortgage registration, and special registrations seek to simulate the property market.
Thailand does not permit foreigners to own property. However, foreigners can own condominiums (provided the percentage of total condo units owned by foreigners is less than 49%) and obtain 30-year leases on property, which can be renewed twice.
